September 15

Let’s think about the graphic above real quick.

Imagine each tree is an employee and gaining professional currency is like growing a root while losing professional currency is like killing a root.

Now imagine the wind is company layoffs and they are coming.

Who do you think is going to be swept up in the layoffs first?

You want to be the employee that is more valuable company and NEVER the one that instantly comes to mind when they think about who to lay off.

THE DEEPER THE ROOTS, THE STRONGER YOUR POSITION WILL BE

**We will be having the Gnomon School of Visual Effects and Games this Wednesday***

What are we working on today?

Creating your world

Why is it important?

Creating your world is really packaging your game.

What is the assignment? How will I show I understand?

Each person in class will get up and share what they are working on for their game. What is going well? What is not going so great? Is there anything you need help on? Is there anything unexpected that has come up?

Talk about it.

You have created the first level of your game and you didn’t even know it. You are to create a new world with four levels.

Land Level

Water Level

Air Level

Dungeon Level

Get a sheet of graph paper and storyboard one of your levels just like you read in the article on the 11th.

Once you have created the world with your four levels, I am going to ask you to use the best ideas you came up with in your world and create the one minute masterpiece based on a vocabulary word.
